Instructional Design – Online Learning

Over the past eight weeks, I have learned what components are necessary to create an online course. I have designed a course of my own, built out different modules, and utilized educators as a resource to test the course’s usability. Below, you will find the course design overview, course implementation, and usability reflection videos.

COURSE IMPLEMENTATION

The video below briefly explains the components of the course, ePortfolios in the Secondary Classroom. This course begins with a ‘Start Here’ section to introduce expectations and goals and moves into weekly modules that include course content. Each weekly module has goals and activities that are directly aligned with Fink’s 3 Column Table used to design the course (see above). Throughout five weeks, learners are able to collaborate with peers and instructors in a blended learning environment as they create their own ePortfolio to use in the Secondary Classroom.

USABILITY & REFLECTION

For the usability review, I used two members of education and had them join my Google Classroom. They went through the course and gave written feedback on what they liked about the course and what areas were needed for growth and improvement. The presentation below is what is referenced in the video. It includes the screen recordings and reviews of each of the participants.
