Contributions to My Learning 4.0

EDLD 5389 – 95/100

EDLD 5318 – 95/100

I am always amazed at the end of each session of classes at how much we learn in such a short amount of time. I have been given a plethora of knowledge that will stay with me moving forward in my educational career. This session of classes was one of the most stressful so far, but I am thankful for the amount of knowledge I have received.

For me, 5389 and 5318 really went hand in hand. 5389 was focused on effective Professional Learning sessions and building out a PL course of our own. 5318 focused on creating an online course in an LMS system of our choice and having stakeholders in our program test out its usability. I was able to use the course I created for 5318 as a portion of the PL course for 5389. It was really beneficial that they went together because the assignments continuously progressed through the eight weeks. Each new piece of knowledge could be applied to both courses.

EDLD 5389 was a tough class to wrap my head around due to the grading. For the first time in this entire master’s program, I have had a B in the class a majority of the time and the feedback on the assignments was not very clear. One of the assignments did not play out in my favor, and this was a really hard pill to swallow, especially knowing I tried my best. I switched on my ‘growth mindset’ and moved forward. For the final assignment, I really spent a lot of time and effort going back and fixing the previous assignments and triple-checking that all components were there.

In both courses, I completed all of the required assignments and material. I completed assignments on, if not before the assigned deadline and when I was given critiques, I went back and fixed what was suggested. For the discussions, I posted in a timely manner and responded with comments and advice on other classmates’ posts. I did miss a few of the live meeting sessions due to working late, but I always went back to watch the recorded version in the shared drive provided.

Just like the other courses taken this year, I collaborated with Naima Bagot, Herman Bibbs, and Rosa Fuentes. We talk daily on GroupMe, attend Zoom calls together, and collaborate using Google Suite documents. I appreciate their willingness to give feedback on my assignments before I post them.

This set of courses flew by and I can’t wait for my last set of master’s courses this summer. I am soaking in all the knowledge I’ve gained, and I am really proud of what I have accomplished this year.
